Camping Knots: Bends

                     In uses where the basic sheet bend will tend to slip or
                     entirely spill, the double sheet bend creates a more secure
                     knot, even when the ropes are wet and even when the
                     load is heavy. This is especially true when the ropes are of
                     unequal diameter. Due to its greater security, the double
                     sheet bend sees frequent use on boats and ships as well
                     as in camp.
