Lastly we considered issues of sustainability. By teaching the teachers about PBIS and creating the manual as

a guide, we are hoping that the system will be able to continue after we leave and will not solely rely on us

being there. However, it would be ideal to have future students work with and support the teachers. We also

hope that the inexpensive nature of the project (cost-free rewards, etc.) will contribute to its sustainability

because it will not require a lot of (if any) funding.

        DATA

        RESULTS

After taking data on each grade pre and post-PBIS, we were able to see if the system really did

have a positive impact on the school.

The graph above shows that in 1st Grade, the amount of disruptive behavior per student decreased after the

implementation of PBIS. Before PBIS, in the matter of 15 minutes, students behaved in a disruptive manner

67 times. However, after we introduced PBIS to the school, students were only disruptive 41 times during an

interval of 15 minutes. This means that disruptive behavior in the classroom decreased by about 39%.
