as this gap is enough to digest the consumed food and the stomach gets
relaxed.
Ideally, the suggested time for pranayama is early morning on an empty
stomach. However, for getting faster results and in some cases of a severe
problems, patients are instructed to practice pranayama twice a day, in the
morning and evening.
Please note that one must not have food at least 20 minutes after doing yoga so
that the body is restored to its natural metabolic rate and function. There is,
however no restriction on water intake, albeit in small quantity if need be.
How to prepare for Kapalbhati?
Yoga and Pranayama must always be done in loose and comfortable
clothes. Talking about Kapalbhati, this breathing form is done in anyone
of comfortable poses like Padmasana (cross-legged), Siddhasana
(Accomplished pose), Vajrasana (kneeling on heels) or Sukhasana
(pleasant pose) sitting on the floor on yoga mat. The spine must be erect.
If you are not comfortable sitting on the floor, you may position yourself
on a chair with an upright spinal cord. Pranayama should never be
performed on the bare floor or while standing.
