FORBIDDEN
ACTS
Third-Party
Past Due
Disclosures
You may not communicate, or threaten to communicate, with a
customer’s employer in any way that will disclose the existence
of the customer’s account with the company. However, this does
not prohibit routine verification of employment when necessary
to substantiate a customer’s statement.
Third parties also include children; you cannot discuss any
information about the rental with a child.
Lastly, don’t engage the customer in discussions about his or her
account in the presence of any other party other than a spouse,
unless the third party is also signed on the rental agreement
as a co-renter. If you are in the store, take the customer out of
earshot of other customers. If you are at the customer’s home,
ask to speak to the customer in private.
Violations of these third-party disclosure policies could result in
civil action against you and the company.
There you have it; it’s a ton of information to take in, so we’ve
made it easy for you to locate in case you need a refresher.
