8. Wood carving

                       The engraving that sprouts sprinkled geometric shapes is a symbol used by the head or
               number of a true or extraordinary creature, which is engraved in a circle.

                      Although eventually the house is decorated with the appearance of a lion (a combination
               creature depicting a supernatural guardian), the house party is often honored with a horse's head,
               which also serves as a magical protector.

                       In the beliefs of the Toba Batak people, the ancestors believed that horses were thought to
               have the ability to advance individuals.

                       Above ground, they served as a sign of greatness, so only wealthy members of the elite
               could possess them.















               9.Dragon Marsorang

                      The bulk of Batak Toba religious art is centered on the creation and make-up of used
               equipment by the datu in ritual contexts such as divination (medium), destroying ceremonies, or
               evil magic. Datu uses a type of container made of different materials to contain an extraordinarily
               powerful material that is used in rituals and other ceremonial contexts.

                      The type of container seen here, known as the naga morsarang, was created from the hollow
               trumpet of a buffalo. The tip of the trumpet is inscribed in the shape of a seated human figure. The
               wider, opening end is clogged with a wooden plug that depicts a lion (an extraordinary creature
               that serves as a magical protector) with four human figures riding on its back. This human image
