LOCAL WISDOM AND SOCIAL ECONOMIC RESILIENCE: A STUDY

Abstrak: One of the local wisdoms of the Minangkabau people in Nagari Lubuk
Jantan, North Lintau Buo District is the bolek tapai tradition. This hereditary
tradition is interesting to study because it is directly related to the social and
economic activities of the community. By using a qualitative approach, this
study finds that the bolek tapai tradition has several objectives: First, to maintain
local culture. Second, give thanks and pray together. Third, it aims to strengthen
the relationship and a sense of kinship in the community. Fourth, as an
opportunity to forgive each other. Fifth, the bolek tapai meeting is used to
discuss the types of rice seeds to be used and the right time to start going to the
fields in the next planting season. The values contained in the bolek tapai
tradition and affect the realization of social and economic resilience of the
community, among others: Love of local wisdom; Mutual cooperation and
kinship; Protection of self, family, and social; Social and economic
awareness/participation; Maintain community economic stability; and divine
values. Thus, it can be concluded that the bolek tapai tradition is a local wisdom
that can strengthen the social and economic resilience of the community..
