            Chapter 3 General Repairs

How to Disassemble the Top Wheel for Repairs

               Disassembly
               6) Place a ladder on each side of the front cover, have one person on each ladder and remove
                   the front panel by:
 Removing the 4 button head fasteners located on the front panel and the 2 plastic tie
straps that are on the back side of the panel at the bottom. See the image below.
 Lift the front cover straight up and off the machine.
 Place the cover some place where it will not get damaged or scratched.
                                                                                 Typical

               7) Rotate the rain arch bracket 180 degrees back toward the entrance of the machine.
               8) Take a large ratchet strap and tie the counterweight up in the air. This is so as you remove
weight from the top wheel side, the counterweight does not come down.
               9) Remove all of the nuts at the counterweight gears, including the one located in the center of
                   the 5 bolt pattern.

                                           Driver Side Passenger Side

Note: It may be necessary to heat the bolt up to loosen the black max locking compound.

 Once the nuts are removed, use an impact to pull all but one of the bolts on each side of
                       the machine.
 Tilt the forklift slightly forward, and with a person on each side work the counterweight
forward down the forklift forks and off the bearings.
 Let the counterweight rotate so the arms are down
 Back the forklift away from the machine paying careful attention not to hit anything and
park it back out of the way.
               10) Remove the counterweight bearings.
At this point, the top wheel/counterweight assembly is completely disassembled.
               11) Turn on the main water, air, and power to the machine.
