Inside the Pods
Replacement of a Cylinder
There are cylinders located in both the Driver and Passenger side pods. This section will explain
replacing three groups of cylinders: the top wheel cylinder, the entrance cylinders, and the exit
cylinders.
Note: On the Entrance end, the driver side and passenger side cylinders are mirror images.
Note: On the Exit end, the driver side and passenger side cylinders are mirror images.
Top Wheel Cylinder
Note: THE TOP WHEEL CYLINDER IS LOCATED IN THE DRIVER SIDE POD.
1) Turn off the main water and the main air supply to the machine.
Note: Take a note of the color airline to each fitting, airline routing and Reid switch wiring
Note: A picture using your phone could be very helpful here.
2) Remove all of the lines that go to the top wheel cylinder including the Reid switch wire. See the
image below. Connection to

Pneumatic Fittings Driver Side Entrance Wheel Cylinder Ref
Take out the shoulder bolt that connects the top wheel cylinder clevis to the lever arm.
3) Using a 1 1/8 inch wrench, take out the bolt that attaches the top wheel cylinder to the machine.
See the image above in Step 2.
4) Remove the cylinder from the machine.
5) Remove the fittings from the old top wheel cylinder and install them onto the new top wheel
cylinder. See the image above in Step 2.
Place the Reid switch in the same position on the new cylinder as it was located on the old
cylinder.
