            MAINTENANCE

            Chapter 3 General Repairs

            Inside the Pods

The pods contain numerous components that may require maintenance work at some point during the
life of your FreeStyler®. In this section, the goal is to explain how to replace all of these components.
At first glance into the pods, it may appear overwhelming. There are a number of components, but all
of the components are relatively simple to replace. One thing to note is that the driver side and
passenger side pods have different components in them. The cylinders may appear the same but they
are mirror images of each other. Only a few parts are identical in both pods. For this reason, we will go
through components in the driver side pod first then components in the passenger side pod.

Replacing a Single Pneumatic Valve on Either the 8 or 4 Port Valve Assembly
               1) Turn off the main air supply to the machine.
               2) Locate the single valve that you are replacing. See the images below.

Note: The 8 port valve assembly has two fittings per single valve and the 4 port valve assembly has
only one fitting per single valve.

8 Port Valve 4 Port Valve

                                                                           Socket Head
                                                      1VALVE-PN335 (4) Fastener

                                                      Airline Fitting (2)
                                                               Socket Head
                                                               Fastener

                                                                                                Airline
                                                                                                Fitting

                                                                              1VALVE-PN331
                                                           1VALVE-PN335
               3) Unplug the airline and remove the fitting. See the images above in Step 2.

Note: Use the correct wrench to remove the airline fitting. Use the correct size Allen wrench to remove
the two socket head fasteners that hold the valve to the valve manifold.

Note: Be careful not to misplace the two o-rings that are in the valve manifold.
               4) Fasten the new single valve to the manifold in the same orientation as the old one. See the
                   images above in Step 2.
Note: There should be an “A and B” marking on each valve for reference.

 Take the previously removed airline fitting and tighten it into the new valve.
Note: DO NOT OVERTIGHEN THE AIRLINE FITTING.

               5) Plug the airline tubing back in now.
               6) Turn on the main air supply to the machine.
