                       Chapter 3 General Repairs

                       Replacing a Pivot Shaft Assembly

                          6) Remove the Aluminum Spacer, Upper Bearing and Upper Pivot Shaft and/or the Lower
Bearing and Lower Pivot Shaft. See the image above in Step 5.
 Slide the wires out of the line arm base.
Note: Take notice of how the line arm bases are attached to the plate, it is possible to put the plate on
                                 backwards.
                          7) Replace the Upper and/or Lower Pivot Shaft(s) as necessary.

                          8) Slide the upper bearing over the pivot shaft and reassemble the aluminum washer on the top
of the shaft. See the image above in Step 5 for all tasks listed in Step 8.
 Slide the hoses through the line arm bases making sure that enough hose slack is pulled
                                 through to reach the nozzles.
 Place the top bearing back on top of the arm bearing attachment that is welded to the
                                 side pod.
Note: Make sure that all of the grease fittings all face outward from the center of the bay to aide in
                                 greasing the bearings.

 Tighten the top bearing back down using the same 9/16-12 bolts removed previously.
 Slide the lower bearing back onto the arm bearing mount and tighten the lower bearing
                                 back onto the machine.
                          9) Now feed the electrical wire and water hose through the top chamber of the arm extrusion
down to the slot near where the motor will sit. See the image above in Step 2.
Note: Make sure that you push the wire back through the slot that is facing the outside of the bay.

Note: Make sure that the barbed water hose fitting is parallel with the arm and the nozzles are
directed at the Pivot Shafts. The Nozzle Housing may need to be rotated.

                          10) Next, the six bolts that attach the Pivot Shaft Plate to the Arm need to be reinstalled. See the
image above in Step 2. In order to reattach those bolts:
 Rotate the arm all the way out so you can start the bolts.

 Have somebody on a ladder hold the arm up level.
 Tighten the bolts into the arm.
                          11) Now, if you have the black plastic extrusions, slide the electrical wire through the cord grip,
and snap the extrusion back into place. See the image above in Step 2.

                          12) At this time you can refer to the section on installing the shafts and gearboxes which can be
found in the installation and startup portion of the FreeStyler® manual.
