Peach-Oat Smoothie


           Vegetarian
                       Old-fashioned oats are the secret ingredient in this sweet smoothie.
                       They provide thickness and fiber, and you probably won’t even
                       notice that they’re in there. In addition to heart-healthy oats, chia
                       seeds are added for even more fiber and healthy omega-3s. As tiny
                       as chia seeds are, they are a whole food and an easily absorbed
                       source of omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, anti-
                       oxidants, and calcium.

                       Ingredient Variations: This fruity smoothie highlights sweet
                       peaches but feel free to use other frozen fruits. Mixed berries,
                       strawberries, and bananas are all good options.
                       ½ cup milk                    1½ tablespoons honey
                       ½ cup plain Greek yogurt      1 tablespoon chia seeds
                       2½ tablespoons uncooked       1½ cups frozen sliced peaches
                          old-fashioned oats
                       1.  Combine the milk, yogurt, oats, honey, and chia seeds in a
                         blender. Let it stand for 5 minutes or until the chia seeds soften.
                       2. Add the peaches. Cover and blend to the desired smoothness.
                         Serve immediately.

                       Serves 2. Prep time: 5 minutes.
