                              gopänasénäà påthu yac-catuñkaà
                             tat-kauëikaà yatra tu kauravindam
                               mahä-vadäbhyo yata eva lagnä
                               nänä-manénäà paöaläni yatra


               gopänasénäm—of the roof-beams; påthu—large; yat—of which;
               catuñkam—four sides; tat—of that; kauëikam—of the sides; yatra—
               where;  tu—indeed;  kauravindam—of rubies;  mahä-vadäbhyaù—great
               roof-beams; yataù—from which; eva—certainly;  lagnäù—touching;
               nänä—various; manénäm—of jewels; paöaläni—roofs; yatra—where.

            The roofs are made of various jewels, and rubies mark the places
            where the roof-beams meet the pillars of the walls.

                              yeñäà lasanty aìgana eva gävaù
                               sarasvaté-mürtivad eva çukläù
                               manaù-samänä avaçä vicitraà
                               tapasvé-saìghä iva suvratäç ca


               yeñäm—of which; lasanti-splendidily manifest; aìgane—in the courtyard;
               eva—certainly;  gaväù—the cows; sarasvaté—of the demigoddess sarasvaté;
               mürti—the diety; vat—like; eva—certainly;  çuklaù—white; manaù—
               the mind; samänaù—like; avaçaù—uncontrolled; vicitram—wonderful;
               tapasvé—of ascetics; saìghah—a multitude; iva—like; su-vratäù—grave
               and serious.
            White as the deity of goddess Sarasvaté, and sober and grave as great
            ascetics, splendid surabhi cows wander in the courtyards of these
            barns.
