surabhi cows; nidäghäù—summer; iva—like; phulla—happy; vatsäù—
calves; sat—transcendental; kävya—poetry; vat—like; sundara—
beautiful; bhüri—many; varëäù—letters; veëu—of the flute; svanäya—
for the sound; eva—certainly; sada—always; urdhva—raised; karëaù—
with ears.
These surabhi cows are just like cintämaëi jewels that fulfill all
desires. Their happy calves are like pleasant summers. Their mooing
is the most beautiful poetry. They lift their ears to hear the sound
of Kåñëa's flute.

yatraiva bhümau patitäù pratétaù
sa-jéva-garbhä iva kaumudénäm
kailäsa-çailasya çilä-çikhaëòäù
saïcäri-çélä iva samlasanti
yatra—where; eva—certainly; bhümau—on the ground; patitäù—
fallen;pratétaù—believed; sa-jéva-garbhäù—the children; iva—as;
kaumudénäm—of the moonlight; kailäsa-çailasya—of Mount Kailasa; çilä-
çikhaëòäù—the rocks on the summit; saïcäri—moving; çiläù—rocks;
iva—like; samlasanti—are manifested.
The calves look as if they might be the moving rocks on the peak of
Mount Kailäsa, or the infant children of the moonlight.

hindéra-khaëòä iva dugdha-sindhor
ye granthivac chré-hara-häsa-jätäù
viçuddha-sattvasya ca maàsa-piëòä-
tulyä bhramanto bhuvi bhüri-vatsäù
hindéra-khanòäù—foam; iva—like; dugdha—of milk; sindhoù—of the
ocean; ye—who; granthivat—like knots; çré-hara—of Lord Çiva; häsa—
from the smile; jätäù—born; viçuddha-sattvasya—of pure goodness;
ca—also; maàsa-pindä—maàsa-piëòä offerings; tulyäù—equal;
bhramantaù—wandering; bhuvi—on the earth; bhüri—many; vatsäù—
calves.
