ST-26 Steering system- Steering Mechanism

Steering Knuckle

Check and repair

1. Dismount the front wheel hub (refer to Chapter AX axle, drive shaft-front axle/front drive axle-front
axle-front wheel hub, replacement”)

2. Removing the drag link arm
a. Disconnect the connection between the drag link arm
and drag link. (refer to Chapter ST steering system-
steering gear–drag link, replacement)

b. Remove the cotter pin of the slotted nut which attaches
the drag link arm to the steering knuckle.
Caution

The steering drag link arm is on the left steering
knuckle.
c. Remove the slotted nut of drag link arm which attaches
the arm to the steering knuckle.
d. Remove the drag link arm.

3. Removing the steering arm

a. Remove the steering tie rod. (refer to Chapter ST
steering system- steering gear–drag link, replacement)

b. Remove the cotter pin of the slotted nut on the steering
arm.
c. Remove the slotted nut from the steering arm. Remove
the steering arm.
