Expansion valve
DI Overview
The expansion valve is an important refrigeration system. It is normally placed between the steam collector
and evaporator. The expansion valve makes the refrigerant liquid at middle temperature and high pressure
EG
change into supersaturated vapor through it by throttling expansion. Then the refrigerant absorbs heat in the
evaporator, that creates the refrigerating effect. The expansion valve controls the flow through the valve by
TR monitoring the degrees of superheat at the end of the evaporator, in order to prevent occurrence of low area
utilization rate inside the evaporator.
