d. Select and install the nut, compress the valve spring and
remove the valve lock clip.
Caution
The valve spring is taut and will be thrown if released. To
prevent eye damage, it is necessary to wear safety goggles
with side shields.

e. Remove the valve spring seat and valve spring.

f. Disassemble the valve and place the valve on a numbered
shelf associated with the valve locking plate, spring seat, and
spring.

g. Remove the oil seal of the valve stem with pliers.

Caution

Before disassembling the oil seal of the valve stem, it is
necessary to record the type and color of the oil seals of the
valve stem installed at each valve position. When
assembling the cylinder cover, a oil seal of the valve tappet
in the same type and color must be installed.
