f. Measure the opening clearance of the piston ring.
Top piston ring:
Minimum: 0.29mm Maximum: 0.58mm
Intermediate piston ring:
Minimum: 0.88mm Maximum: 1.37mm
Oil control ring:
Minimum: 0.28mm Maximum: 0.77mm
If the piston ring clearance is not within the technical
specifications:
1 Confirm that the types and part numbers of the piston ring
used are correct.
2 Confirm that the cylinder hole is within the technical
specifications.
3 Confirm that the clearance of the piston ring is measured at
the position 89mm below the upper surface of the cylinder.
4 Try to use another set of piston rings.

g. Check whether the piston ring is excessively worn.

h. Check whether there are cracks or other damages on the
connecting rod components, if any, replace.

i. Check whether there are injuries or other damages on the
connecting rod bearing, if any, replace.
