 All the vegetation in the fields ·íÓðÖOÔíëÓN¥Ñ¼-ñÖk³·ÑêÐî  12 1. Adonoy said to Moshe and Aharon öÕ flþÎíÞÔê-ñÓêÐîí¤ÓLô-ñÓê ·íÒÖîíÐ−þÓôêÒ¥iÔî.ê áé
 was struck by the hail ð flÖþÖaÔíí¤ÖkÌí  in the land of Egypt saying: :þÒ ÞôêÑñóÌ−£ÔþЮÌô±Óþ'ÓêÐa
 and every tree in the fields was shattered. :þÞÑaÌLí£ÓðÖOÔí±'Ѽ-ñÖk-³ÓêÐî  2. “This month shall be [reckoned] to you ó£Ó×Öñí§ÓfÔíLÓðÒ«ìÔí.ë
 26. Only in the land of Goshen öÓLflb±Óþ¤ÓêÐašÔþƒ.î×

 where the B’nei Yisrael were, ñ¢ÑêÖþÐNÌ−−¤ÑòÐaó£ÖL-þÓLÎê
 there was no hail. :ðÞÖþÖaí£Ö−Öíê'G  [1] Adonoy said to Moshe and Aharon.  .ïÉøÂäÞÇà-ìÆàÀåäÆLî-ìÆà'äøÆîàÉiÇå [à]
 27. Pharaoh sent, and called for Moshe and Aharon, öÕ flþÎíÞÔêÐñe í¤ÓLôÐñ ·êÖþКÌiÔîíÒ †¼Ð þÔtì¤ÔñÐLÌiÔî .ï×  Since Aharon performed, and troubled himself,  ìÔþÖ¬ÐîíÖNÖ¼öÒþÎíÔêÓLñ−ÌëÐLÌa
            in regard to the wonders, just as much as Moshe,  ,íÓLôÐkó−̳ÐõBnÔa
 and he said to them, “This time I have sinned. óÔ¼¢ÖtÔí−̳ê¤Ö¬Öìó£ÓíÑñÎêþÓôêÒ'iÔî
            He (God) does him this honor at the first mitzvah,  ,íÖòBLêÌþíÖîЮÌôÐaíÓï ðBëÖ×BñšÔñÖì
 Adonoy is the righteous One š− flÌcÔvÔí ·íÒÖîíÐ−
             by including him with Moshe in this message. 12  :þea−ÌcÔëíÓLô ó̼ BñÖñÐkÓL
 and I and my people are the sinners. :ó−Þ̼ÖLÐþÞÖí−£ÌnÔ¼Ðî−'ÌòÎêÞÔî
                              In the land of Egypt—  .íÄéÇøÀöÄîõÆøÆàÀa
 28. Pray to Adonoy. íflÖîÒíÐ−-ñÓê ·eþ−·ÌzмÔí .ì×  —[but] outside the city.  ,CÖþÐkÔñ ±eì
 There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. ð¢ÖþÖëe ó−£ÌíGÍê³'GÒš³Ò§−ÐíÞÌôë–ÔþÐî  or was that not so,  Bò−ÑêBê
 I will send you out without further delay.” :ðÒ Þ ôμÞÔñöe£õÌ½Ò Þ³ê'GÐîó flÓ×гÓêí¤ÖìÐlÔLÎêÞÔî  but [it was] rather within the city?  ?CÖþÐkÔí CB³ÐëêÖlÓê
       The Torah, therefore, states [concerning Moshe’s prayer]:  þÔôBñ ðeôÐñÔz
 29. Moshe said to him, “When I leave the city, þ− fl̼Öí-³Óê ·−̳êÑ®Ðkí flÓLô ·î−ÖñÑêþÓôêÒ¥iÔî .¬×
                           “When I leave the city, etc.” 3  ’BèÐîþ−̼Öí³Óê−̳êÑ®Ðk
 I will spread my hands [in prayer] to Adonoy. íÒ¢ÖîíÐ−-ñÓê−£ÔtÔk-³ÓêNÒ'þÐõÓê
                            Now, if [regarding] prayer,  íÖlÌõÐzíÔôe
 The thunder will cease öe †ñÖcÐìÓ−³B¤ñÒwÔí  which is [relatively] less significant, 4  íÖlÔš
 and there will be no more hail, ðB fl¼-íÓ−ÐíÞÌ−ê¤G ·ðÖþÖaÔíÐî  he would not pray within the city  ,CÖþÐkÔí CB³ÐañÑñÔtгÌíêG
 so that you will know ¼ flÔðÑzöÔ¼¤Ô ôÐñ  for it was full of idols,  :ó−ÌñelÌbíÖêÑñÐôíÖ³Ð−ÖíÓL−ÌõÐñ
                   then, [regarding] a message [from God],  þeaÌ c
 that the earth belongs to Adonoy. :±ÓþÞÖêÖííÒ£Öîí−ÞÔñ−'Ìk
                      which is so much more significant,  íÓïÖk þeôÖì
 30. But regarding you and your servants, E−¢ÓðÖëμÞÔîí£ÖzÔêÐî.ñ
           how much more so [that he would leave the city.] 5  ,öÑkÓLñÖ×êG

             He (God) showed him the moon at its renewal  dÖLecÌìÐëíÖòÖëÐñeíÖêÐþÓí
 [28] Enough. 35  .áÇøÀå [çë]       and said to him,  ,Bñ þÔôÖêÐî
 [I.e.] let it be sufficient for Him  Bñ −Ôc  “When the moon renews itself,  LÑcÔìгÌôÔìÑþÖiÔíÓLÐk
 with what He has already brought down.  :þÖëÐkð−ÌþBíÓMíÔôÐa  let that be for you the beginning of a new month.” 7  LÓðÒìLêÒþEÐñíÓ−ÐíÌ−
 [29] When I leave the city. 36  .øéÄòÈä-úÆàéÄúàÅöÀk [èë]  However, Scripture does not depart  êÑ®B− êÖþКÌôö−ÑêÐî
                              from its plain meaning:  ;B¬eLÐõ−Ñð−Ìô
 [þ−̼Öí³Óê has the same meaning as] þ−̼ÖíöÌô—from the city.  ,þ−̼ÖíöÌô
          He (God) was telling him about the month of Nissan;  ,Bñ þÔôÖêöÖ½−ÌòLÓðÒìñÔ¼
 But within the city he would not pray  ,ñÑlÔtгÌíêGþ−̼Öí CB³ÐañÖëÎê
                      [viz.] this (Nissan) shall be the start  LêÒþíÓ−ÐíÌ−íÓï
 because it was full of idols. 37  :ó−ÌñelÌèíÖêÑñÐôíÖ³Ð−ÖíÓL−ÌõÐñ
                 of the order of the counting of the months,  ,ó−ÌLÖðÏìÓíöÔ−ÐòÌôþÓðѽÐñ
 [30] You are not yet in fear.  .ïeàÀøéÞÄzíÆøÆè [ì]
               so that Iyar will be called the second [month]  ,−ÌòÑL −eþÖšþ−ÖiÌêêÑíÐiÓL
 [öeêÐþ−ÌzóÓþÓ¬ is translated:]
 “You are not yet in fear.”  .öeêÐþ−̳êGö−Ì−Ôðμ
