                           ‘Eheyeh sent me to you.’” :óÞÓ×−ÑñÎê−Ìò'ÔìÖñÐLí£Ó−ÐíÞÓê               but your workload must not be reduced.’” :þÞÖëÖcó£Ó×гÔðÒ ÞëμÞÑô¼§ÖþÐèÌòö−'Ñê−¤Ìk

                     ‘Adonoy, the God of your fathers, ó†Ó×−Ñ³Ò ÞëÎê−¤ÑíGÍêí„ÖîÒíÐ−              13. The taskmasters pressured them saying, þÒ¢ôêÑñó−¤Ì®Öêó−£ÌLÐèÒÞpÔíÐî .è−
              the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchok, š§Ö ìЮÌ−−'ÑíGÍêó•ÖíÖþÐëÔê−·ÑíGÍê       “You must complete your daily work [quota], B flôB−ÐaóB¤−-þÔëÐc ·óÓ×−ÑNμÞÔôe¥lÔk
                and the God of Yaakov, sent me to you. ó¢Ó×−ÑñÎê−Ìò¤ÔìÖñÐLëÒ£šÎ¼ÞÔ−−'ÑíGêÞÑî        just as [before] when there was straw.” :öÓëÞÓzÔí³B'−ÐíÞÌaþ£ÓLÎêÞÔk

                        I will be that what I will be. 27                                                Here, too, þÓšÖL−ÑþÐëÌðÐëe¼ÐLÌ−ñÔê [means]:  ZþÓšÖL−ÑþÐëÌðÐae¼ÐLÌ−ñÔê :öêÖk¹Ôê
       [Meaning:] “‘I, Who shall Be’ with them in this suffering  Bï íÖþÖ®ÐaóÖn̼íÓ−ÐíÓê     “Let them not talk about useless, nonsensical things.”  :−êÔëÎíÔîêÐîÖL−ÑþÐëÌðÐaó−ÌþÖaÐðÌòe−ÐíÌ−ñÔê
                    [am the One] ‘Who will be’ with them  óÖn̼íÓ−ÐíÓêþÓLÎê                       [11] You [must] go get your own straw.  .ïÆáÆzíÆëÈìeçÀ÷eëÀìíÆzÇà [àé]
         when they will be subjugated by the other kingdoms.”  .³BiŠ×ÐñÔôþÖêÐL ðeaмÌLÐa                     “And you must go with zeal—  ,³eï−ÌþÐïÌaCÑñ−ÑñóÓzÔêó−Ì×−ÌþЮe
                    [Whereupon] he (Moshe) said to Him,  :î−ÖòÖõÐñþÔôÖê                         but [your workload] must not be reduced—  íÆëÀúÇãÉ ÞáÂòÞÅîòÈøÀâÄðïéÅàéÄk
                              “Master of the Universe,  ,óÖñB¼ ñÓL BòBaÌþ                        by any amount from the total number of bricks  ó−ÌòÑëÐñ óe×нñÖkÌô.þÞÖëÖc
                    why should I mention other suffering,  ?³ÓþÓìÔêíÖþÖ®óÓíÖñþ−ÌkÐïÔô−ÌòÎêíÖô             that you had been making per day,  ,óB−Ðñó−ÌNB¼ óÓ³−Ì−ÍíÓL
       it is sufficient [that they know of] their present suffering.”  !Bï íÖþÖ®Ðaó−ÖiÔc        when straw was given to you, already prepared,  öÖneïÐôóÓ×ÖñöÖzÌòöÓëÓzÔí ³B−ÐíÌa
                              He (God) said to him, 28  :Bñ þÔôÖê                                             from the king’s warehouse.”  :CÓñÓnÔí³−ÑaÌô
                              “You have spoken well,  ,ÖzÐþÔôÖêíÓõÖ−
                                                                                                     [12] To gather grain-chaff for straw.  .ïÆáÞÆzÇìLÇ÷LÅL÷Àì [áé]
                       ‘This is what you must say, etc.’” 29  :’îèî þÔôêÒ³íÒk
                                                                                                      [LÔšLÑLšÐñ means:] to collect a gathering,  ,íÖõ−ѽÎê ¹B½ÍêÓñ
                       [15] This is my eternal Name.  .íÈìÉòÀìéÄîÀM-äÆæ [åè]                                   to put together a collection  ,¬ÓšÓñ ¬BšÐñÌñ
              [óÖñÒ¼Ðñ] is missing the letter vav [after the ayin],  ,î"−ÖîþѽÖì           [öÓëÓzÔñ meaning:] for the purpose of the straw for the clay.  :¬−ÌhÔíöÓëÓzCÓþB®Ðñ
                        [in effect] saying, “Conceal it.” 30  eíÑô−ÌñμÔí,þÔôBñ

               so that it (My Name) not be read as written. 31  :BëÖ³Ð×ÌkêÑþÖwÌ−êHÓL
                                                                                                             is a term meaning: gathering. 28  ,¬ewÌñ öBLÐñ
               And this is how I am to be mentioned. 32  .éÄøÀëÄæäÆæÀå                              It is because it is something which disperses  êeí þÑïÔtгÌnÔíþÖëÖcÓLóÑLñÔ¼
           He (God) taught him how [the Name] is to be read.  .êÖþКÌòCÔê−ÑíBðÐnÌñ                           and requires (LÑLš) gathering,  BLÐLîšÐñC−ÌþÖ®Ðî
                               Similarly, David says: 33  ,þÑôBê êeí ðÌîÖcöÑ×Ðî                      [straw] is referred to as LÔš in other places.  :³BôBšÐôþÖêÐLÌaLÔš −eþÖš
                               “Your Name is forever,  óÖñB¼ÐñEÐôÌL’í

                                                                                               [ó−Ì®Öê does not mean hurried, but rather] pressured.  :ó−ÌšÎìBc
       27 There are two difficulties in this verse, 1) First, God tells Moshe to tell the Israelites that “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh
       sent me to you.” Then God says, “‘Ehyeh’ sent me to you.” 2) The entire verse is the statement of God, then, why  Daily work.  .BîBéÀa íBé-øÇáÀc
       is þÓôêÒiÔî repeated in the middle? (L.S.R.)  28 This is represented by the second þÓôêÒiÔî in the verse.  29 Berachos
