       11. An angel of Adonoy called to him from heaven óÌ− flÔôÖMÔí-öÌô·íÖîÒíÐ−C¥ÔêÐñÔôî−‚ÖñÑêê¶ÖþКÌiÔî .ê−  The kindness that I have done to you, do to me − flÌðÖn̼í¤ÓNμÞÔz·EÐn̼−̳−¥ÌNÖ¼-þÓLÎêðÓ½‚ÓìÔk
                      and said, “Avraham, Avraham!” ó¢ÖíÖþÐëÔê|ó¤ÖíÖþÐëÔêþÓôê£ÒiÔî           and to the land in which you lived for a while.” :dÞÖaíÖzÐþ£Ôb-þÓLÎê±Óþ£ÖêÖí-ó̼Ðî
                           and he said, “Here I am.” :−ÌòÞÑpÌíþÓôê£ÒiÔî                                  24. Avraham said, “I will swear.” :Ô¼ÞÑëÖMÌê−£Ì×ÒòÞÖêó flÖíÖþÐëÔê·þÓôê¶ÒiÔî .ð×
               12. He [God] said, “Do not touch the lad, þÔ¼flÔpÔí-ñÓê·EÐðÞÖ−ì¥ÔñÐLÌz-ñÔêþÓôê†ÒiÔî .ë−  25. Avraham then reprimanded Avimelech CÓñ¢Óô−ÌëÎê-³Óêó£ÖíÖþÐëÔêÔì'Ì×BíÐî .í×
                      nor do anything to [harm] him; íÖôe¢êÐôB£ñNÔ¼'Ôz-ñÔêÐî                                 regarding the well of water óÌ− flÔnÔíþ¤ÑêÐ a·³BðÒê-ñÔ¼
                                   for now I know −Ìzм†ÔðÖ−í¤ÖzÔ¼|−¤Ìk                        that Avimelech’s servants had taken by force. :CÓñÞÓô−ÌëÎê−'ÑðÐëÔ¼e£ñÐïÞÖbþ'ÓLÎê

             It is an expression of love to repeat his name. 458  :BôÐL³ÓêñÑõBkÓL ,êeí íÖa−Ìì öBLÐñ             You also never told me, − †ÌlÖzÐð¤ÔbÌí-ê ÞGí„ÖzÔê-óÔèÐî
                             [12] Do not touch. 459  .çÇìÀLÄz-ìÇà [áé]                            and I also heard nothing of it until today.” :óBÞiÔí−'ÌzÐñÌa−Ìzм£ÔôÖLê'G−§Ì×ÒòÞÖêó«ÔèÐî
                                  To slaughter him.  ;¬BìÐLÌñ                                          27. Avraham took sheep and cattle þ flÖšÖëe öê¤Ò®·óÖíÖþÐëÔêì¥ÔwÌiÔî .ï×
                        Then he [Avraham] said to Him,  :Bñ þÔôÖê                                          and gave them to Avimelech. CÓñ¢Óô−ÌëÎêÞÔñö£ÑzÌiÔî
                    “Then, I have come here for nothing.  ,öêÔ×Ðñ−̳êÖaóÖpÌìÐñöÑkóÌê                   The two of them made a covenant. :³−ÞÌþÐaó£Óí−ÑòÐLe'³ÐþÐ×ÌiÔî
                 I will wound him and draw a little blood.”  ,óÖc¬Ô¼ÐôepÓnÌôê−Ì®BêÐîíÖñÖëÎìBaíÓNͼÓê
                     God then responded íÖôeêÐôBñNÔ¼Ô³ñÔê!  ,íÖôeêÐôBñNÔ¼ÔzñÔê :Bñ þÔôÖê                             28. Avraham set ó†ÖíÖþÐëÔêë¤ÑvÔiÔî .ì×
                     Do not cause him any wound. 460 461  :óeô Ba NÔ¼ÔzñÔê                               seven ewes apart by themselves. :öÞÓíÐcÔëÐñöê£ÒvÔí³ 'NÐëÌk¼Ôë§ÓL-³Óê
                                  For now I know.  .éÄzÀòÇãÈéäÈzÇòéÄk                                    29. Avimelech said to Avraham. ó¢ÖíÖþÐëÔê-ñÓêCÓñ£Óô−ÌëÎ êþÓôê'ÒiÔî .¬×
                    R. Abba said: 462 Avraham said to Him  ,êÖaÔê−ÌaÔþþÔôÖê                       “What is the reason for these seven ewes íÓl flÑêÖí³·NÖëÐk¼Ôë¥ÓLíÖp†Ñíí¤Öô
                    “I wish to clarify to You my complaint.  :óÖíÖþÐëÔêBñþÔôÖê                                that you have set apart?” :íÖòÞÖcÔëÐñÖzÐë£ÔvÌíþ'ÓLÎê
                    Yesterday [previously] You said to me,  ,−̳Öì−ÌN³ÓêE−ÓòÖõÐñLÑþÖõÎê                         30. He [Avraham] said, þÓôê–ÕiÔî.ñ
                          ‘For [only] through Yitzchok  −ÌñÖzÐþÔôÖê ñBôгÓê
                       will seed be considered yours.’ 463  ,¼ÔþÖïEÐñêÑþÖwÌ−šÖìЮÌ−Ðë−Ìk            “Take these seven ewes from my hand −¢ÌðÖiÌôì £ÔwÌz³ flNÖëÐk¼Ôë¤ÓL-³Óê−Ìkƒ
               And then, again You said, ‘Take your son.’ 464  ,EÐòÌa³ÓêêÖòìÔš:Ö zÐþÔôÖêÐîÖzÐþÔïÖìÐî       so that it will be proof for me, í flÖðѼÐñ−¤Ìl-íÓ−ÐíÞÌz·þeëμÞÔa
                             And now, You say to me,  :−ÌñþÑôBê íÖzÔêî−ÖLÐ×Ô¼
                              ‘Do not touch the lad.’”  .þÔ¼ÔpÔíñÓêEÐðÖ−ìÔñÐLÌzñÔê                    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA RASHI  é"ùøAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
                              God responded to him,  :í"ÖaÖwÔíBñþÔôÖê
                                                                                                    [23] With my son or my grandson. 396  .éÄãÀëÆðÀìe éÄðéÄðÀìe [âë]
                        “I will not profane My covenant  −̳−ÌþÐañÑlÔìÎêêG
                                                                                                  That is the limit of a father’s love for a son. 397  :öÑaÔíñÔ¼ëÖêÖí−ÑôÎìÔþöêÔkðÔ¼
                     nor alter the utterance of My lips. 465  ,íÓpÔLÎêêG−Ô³ÖõÐNêÖ®Bôe
                            When I said to you, ‘Take’  ,"ìÔš" EÐñ−ÌzÐþÔôÖêÓLÐk              The kindness that I have done to you, do to me.  .éÄãÈîÄòäÆNÂòÇzEÀnÄòéÄúéÄNÈòøÆLÂàãÆñÆçÇk
                 I am not altering the utterance of My Lips,  íÓpÔLÎêêG−Ô³ÖõÐNêÖ®Bô                                “When I said to you,  :EÐñ−ÌzÐþÔôÖêÓL
                  [for] I did not say to you, ‘Slaughter him’  eíѬÖìÐLEÐñ−ÌzÐþÔôÖêêG                    ‘Behold, my land is before you.’” 398  :E−ÓòÖõÐñ−Ì®ÐþÔêíÑpÌí
                              but only ‘Sacrifice him.’  ,eíÑñμÔíêÖlÓê                                        [25] [He] reprimanded.  .ÇçÄëBäÀå [äë]
       Now that you have brought him up, take him down.” 466  .d−ѳÎìÔêd−ÑzКԽÎê                 [Meaning:] he had a dispute with him over it.  :CÖkñÔ¼Bn̼ìÔkîÔîгÌò
