Thanks to all that attended the District Convention. It seemed that all were
having a good time! Congratulations to Kasey Cheshier for being named Lion of the Year and the Grand Prairie Host Lion Club for being designated the Lions Club of the Year. Both well deserved. Didn’t Lions Darla and Iris do a great job on the table decorations?
PID Kembra Smith asked us to look into ourselves and be sure we are doing all we can do within our clubs and lives.
I did overlook the announcing of the contest winners. Lion Rita Claxton won the Judges Award for the Cookie Contest and can designate a District Charity to receive $200.00. Lion Judy Nicholson won the People’s Award in the Cookie Contest and can designate a District Charity to receive the $266 donated by the testers! The Coppell Lions Club won the best Bingo Basket contest and can designate a District Charity to receive $100.00. Thanks to all 6 donors of baskets. They were appreciated by the Bingo winners!
Congratulations to Lion Esmeralda Rodriguez on her election as your second Vice District Governor. We look forward to good things from her in the future. Congratulations also to Lion Vinod as your DG for next year and Lion Billy Ketner as your 1st VDG for next year. I look forward to working with them.
Thanks also to the 14 Past District Governors at the Convention for the Passing of the Gavel ceremony. It is nice to see the 2X1 PDG Association back in full swing!
Our District continues to be in a positive membership growth, but we need your help in recruiting and installing new members during May and June. I can come to your club to install as needed! We are close to the 1800 members that was in my district goals!
