Operational procedures
6.8.1 The commander shall ensure that only aerodromes approved by the
relevant aviation authority for night flights are used as takeoff and landing.
6.8.2 Flights may only be conducted with flight visibility of 8 km and with ground
visibility. Distances from clouds shall be at least the distances required in Table
5-1 in BL 7-1.
6.8.3 VFR night flights planned to take place outside the daily period for VFR
flights require:
a. the airplane is equipped with an SSR transponder with 4096 codes in Mode
A/3
b. Mode C with automatic pressure altitude reporting
c. a flight plan has been submitted for the flight in question
d. 2-way radio contact has been established with the relevant air traffic
services unit.
6.3.1.3 Other operational provisions
6.1 The commander is responsible for ensuring that the checklists in force at
any time are used.
Note: According to BL 7.1, section 5.4, and relevant AIP ENR 1.2, VFR flights
within Danish territory may normally only take place below FL 200, unless
permission is obtained from the Civil Aviation Administration. Regarding VFR
flights, reference is also made to the provisions of BL 7-1, in particular sections
5.2 - 5.2.2.1, and table 5-1. These provisions from the currently applicable BL 7-
1, 12th edition of 2 June 2008, are reproduced in Appendix 2 to this BL.
6.2 For flights into certain control zones and traffic information zones where
VFR holding procedures, reporting points and routes have been established,
these shall be used, if required.
When the airplane is operated under conditions and in locations where icing
has been reported or where icing may be expected, the airplane shall be
approved for flight under these conditions.
