6.3.2 Instruments and equipment

The following equipment must be on board the aircraft:

- Seat for each passenger over 2 years of age

- Shoulder and lap belts for front seats

- At least lap belts for rear seats

- First aid kit

- Hand fire extinguisher

- Spare fuses (fuses)

- ELT

The following instruments must be on board the aircraft:

- Airspeed indicator

- Altimeter

- Compass

- A watch that shows time in hours, minutes and seconds

BL 5-61 also sets out requirements for the aircraft's instruments and

equipment. Selected provisions are listed below.

6.3.2.1 Requirements for the aircraft

8.1 The airplane shall be operated within the limitations set out in the flight

manual.

8.2 The commander shall ensure that the airplane has sufficient performance

for the intended flight.

8.3 On all flights, airplanes shall be equipped with:

a. an accessible first aid kit

b. at least one portable fire extinguisher installed in the cockpit and in the

passenger compartment if separate from the cockpit
c. fixed seats with seat belts for each person over 2 years of age
