container. Apart from saving time, it can also accommodate 5 kg of flour in one
sieving process compared to the original machine which is only 2 kg of flour. Next,
after increasing the width of the size of the machine the safety features of the
machine can be taken care of because the machine can withstand a larger load
than the original machine and thus the innovation machine will be more durable to
use in the long run. All these innovations are analyzed and simulated to obtain a
new design of the optimal Flour Sieving Machine. As a result of the simulation, the
researchers found that the design of the Innovation Flour Sieving Machine is able to
solve the problem of SMIs in terms of saving consumer energy, man-power and
time, the amount of flour that can be sieved at one time is more, increased comfort
and safety of users and machines because the innovation machine can
accommodate large load compared to the original machine. It can be concluded
that there are some improvement in quality, productivity, and safety during the
operation of this Innovative Flour Sieving Machine.

Cellular respiration is the topic with the highest weightage (18%) in Semester
Matriculation Programme Biology Examination. Learning this topic, especially
glycolysis (the first stage of cellular respiration), has always been challenging and
overwhelming for matriculation students because it involves memorizing various
compound names and metabolic pathways. It is known that mnemonics can
improve memory and enhance recalls. Thus, “Gipomonic” was developed. This
innovation project aims to help students memorize the names of all glycolytic
intermediates and remember the correct order of intermediates formed along the
glycolytic pathway. Unlike other glycolysis mnemonics, the mnemonic sentence
created in this project containing only eleven words which can be directly linked to
the eleven glycolytic intermediates; these mnemonic words also include information
about the position of phosphate group in the intermediates. Besides, the mnemonic
is illustrated by a picture to help students recall the mnemonic and relate it to
glycolysis. The post-test results showed that students performed better after using
the mnemonic, 67% of the students were able to score 7/11 and above. Based on
feedback from students, 86% of them agreed that the mnemonic makes learning
and memorizing of the names and order of glycolytic intermediates easier and more
effective. Using “Gipomonic” as a teaching aid could reduce time spent on teaching
and learning of glycolysis. This mnemonic was shared with other biology lecturers.
It can be incorporated in teaching and learning of glycolysis not only in matriculation
colleges, but also for Form 6 Biology and Biochemistry BSc course.
