6. Computer skills: the ability to use computer software
applications and have a conceptual understanding of how
computers work.
The first object of any good system must be that of
developing first- class men; and under systematic management
the best man rises to the top more certainly and more rapidly
than ever before. People make quality. Quality results are
achieved only by individuals working both separately and
together. A quality team is a good team of good people. Up
grading the group of people you work with now to a quality
team will almost certainly require change. A team is shaped by
its leader. Looking at it another way, a leader is simply a person
who has followers, but to lead them in the right direction. At
the same time, followers make a leader.
Qualifications for the job of quality manager are mainly
of a technological nature. Most job descriptions call for
specialized degrees such as in food technology, electronic
engineering, and microbiology. Most also require experience in
the industry. In recruitment from outside the company there is a
universal demand for prior experience as a quality manager.
