people who passed by, the following day you perhaps awaited the
showing of solidarity. Who could know what they might do to
you. What threats, what violence. But you were not intimidated.
Describing how strong you are is beyond my powers. How much
hope and how good an example you give to others. How wonder-

ful you are and how much energy filled me when I heard news of
you. How priceless are your methods of resistance! How happy I
am to live in the same city as people like you, and if there is dirt
around I live among people like you who make efforts to clear the
air. I cannot tell you how lucky I am. You promise hope to hu-
manity. Your valuable labour over days unites with being wonder-
ful people to produce a healthy result. You have given me a great

deal of delight J

I hope to come and see you in the near future and with the
warmest feelings I hope to obtain one of the sweaters that you
have produced with your labour.”

We got up early and had breakfast. Today the people on the
day shift will come a little late. Because they will be bringing a

lorry with a load of thread. While we were waiting in the morning
the visitors started arriving. They looked at the sweaters inside and
made their selections. We had a lot of e-mails, Support from out-
side of Istanbul and even from abroad, we continue to receive con-
gratulations. As afternoon approached two lorries arrived bring
thread and some sweaters. We carried the load inside.

In the afternoon the HDK’s Sisli organisation visited. We
