drank tea and talked about resistance. We took them on a tour of
the factory. We had no lack of visitors up to the evening. Our sales
of sweaters also went well. But it was the support that we were re-
ally pleased about.

25 September 2013 Wednesday

At 12 noon the lawyer Taylan Tanay and Berna Yilmaz sup-
ported the DIH sit-down protest in front of DISK which we carry
out every weekday to oppose being fired. The action ended at 1
pm. Together we did what we do every Wednesday, which is to
gather at Sisli mosque and then march to the factory. The action
was well-attended. After we read out our press statement in front
of the tent Hava-Is workers on strike at Turkish Airlines arrived.

We gave them tea and then took them on a tour of the factory.
We explained our aims to them. They were impressed that we
panned to resume production, saying, “We most do what we can
at the Airline transportation point.”

Among our visitors today are students from various universi-
ties. They said that at the weekend they would publicise the fash-
ion show we are planning.

In the afternoon the general secretary of Nakliyat-Is and mem-
bers of his union came. The area in front of the factory was

crowded and seats were brought so they could sit inside. We took
them on a tour inside and explained our plans to them. The gen-
eral secretary Ali Riza Kucukosmaoglu stressed the importance of
the resistance as the first of its kind and said other trade unions
needed to support it. He said next week they would come in large
numbers.
