Oven Pot Roast

3 lb. beef roast
1 can cream of mushroom soup -- (10 oz)
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cups white wine -- (1 soup can full)
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Place meat in roaster. Mix remaining ingredients in bowl. Pour over meat.
Cover. Bake at 325° for 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Add potatoes and carrots 1 1/2
hours before roast is done. Serves 6

NOTES : This tasted good, but was a little watery. Original
called for 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup apple juice. I used
1 can of water and 1 can of white wine. So I have changed
it to 1 can of wine.
