CRM is a game-changing software that drastically changed the institutional
advancement industry, particularly fund development. The software allows
development professionals to store and manage prospective and donors’
information -- including contact information, financial/giving history, and gift
opportunities -- within a central location. It revolutionized the way an institution’s
investors, sponsors and other stakeholders are engaged with the institution --
allowing, for better and regular communication with prospects and donors; and
subsequently lets the organization attains and/or exceeds its fundraising and
advocacy goals by using the built-in analytics in to make well-calculated and data-
driven decisions.
CRM is an amalgamation of human capital, series of steps, and technology that
permits fund development professionals to efficiently manage:
▪ Stakeholders: including constituent signups, database management, and
analysis;
▪ Events: including online registration and prospects and donors’ tracking;
▪ Fundraising: including targeting and tracking; and
▪ Mailings to stakeholders: including personalized email blasts and newsletters.
III. BOARD AND RELATED MATERIALS
In the interest of time, as well as to convene and move the meeting forward,
Alonzo would -- within two weeks before a meeting -- send a draft of the Board
meeting agenda to the president of the Board. The president would review, edit
and/or approve the Draft for dissemination. Once approved, he uses email to
disseminate the agenda and other related documents -- including materials which
assist members of the board to articulate, deliberate and decide on how to vote on
the day of the meeting.
