As of 2014, Perrysburg's population is 21,423 people. Since 2000, it has had a population
growth of 70.69 percent. Located about 12 miles southwest of Toledo, Perrysburg is a highly
sought after and attractive suburb.
Perrysburg Ranked #5 in the State of Ohio as “Best Places to Live” – 2014 and was voted “Best
Suburban Downtown” The City Paper “Best of” Award four years in a row (2011 – 2014).
Cost of Living
The median home cost in Perrysburg is $184,100. Compared to the rest of the country,
Perrysburg's cost of living is 1.30% lower than the U.S. average.
Climate
The location on Lake Erie’s western shore gives better winters than other parts of northern
Ohio. Snowfall in Perrysburg is generally light. You can expect a continental climate with some
moderating effects from Lake Erie.
Education
Perrysburg is home to four elementary schools, one junior high school, Perrysburg High School,
and one extracurricular academy. It has received an Excellent rating on the State Report Card
for eleven consecutive years and met 26 of 26 of the Ohio Department of Education's indicators
with a performance index of 105.6. The district is on the College Board’s AP® District Honor Roll
for Significant Gains, has NLL District & Regional Championship teams and performers and has
nationally recognized fine and performing arts programs. Over 20 advanced placement and
honors classes are offered at Perrysburg High School and the district's elementary schools have
robust technology integration. The primary public schools are Fort Meigs, Frank, Toth and
Woodland Elementary Schools, with the private Catholic school, Saint Rose, making up the fifth.
Perrysburg Junior High School is housed in the old Perrysburg High School building. In addition
to property taxes, Perrysburg Schools are supported by 0.5% income tax revenue within the
school district.
Recreation
An abundance of outdoor recreation and sports—including the Metroparks system—is also
available on the area’s lakes and rivers. With its close proximity to the Lake Erie Islands and
Cedar Point, the Toledo area is a natural destination point for summer recreation. Toledo is
home to the Mud Hens Triple A minor league baseball team and the annual Marathon
Classic tournament, presented by Owens Corning and Owens-Illinois, LPGA Golf Tournament.
