7.8. Waiver Process
7.8.1. Waivers are exceptions to policy for deployment. Waivers are required for
deployment when individuals do not meet the deployment guidelines or
requirements due to medical conditions.
7.8.1.1. Central Command (CENTCOM) waivers will go to United States Army
Central (USARCENT).

7.9. Temporary Disqualifications – (Temporary disqualification are resolved by the
physician and in accordance with the provisions contained in Tab A of the Army
Mobilization and Deployment Reference (AMDR).
7.9.1. Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) - Positive results will require chest x-ray.
7.9.2. Morbid obesity (BMI > 40 or weight greater than 300 pounds.
7.9.3. BMI > 35 with serious comorbidities such as; diabetes, cardiovascular disease,
hypertension, sleep apnea, obesity-related cardiomyopathy, severe joint disease,
etc.
7.9.4. Blood Pressure exceeding 140/90
7.9.5. EKG - Abnormal EKGs will require evaluation by a physician to determine if
any additional testing is required.
7.9.6. Framingham Test higher than 15% will require negative echo stress test results in
order to submit a waiver to surgeon general.
7.9.7. Abnormal labs such as anemia, elevated glucose, or Glycated Hemoglobin (A1C)
levels, CBC levels, Urinalysis…etc.
7.9.8. Positive HEP B or C - additional labs required in order to submit waiver.
7.9.9. Abnormal Stool Sample – (Ova and Parasites) - If results are positive, candidates
may take 3-5 days antibiotics and retest per customer approval.
7.9.10. Unrepaired hernia - can deploy six weeks after surgery.
7.9.11. Recent surgeries or medical conditions will require clearance from treating
physician and supporting documentation must be given to Medical Provider or
candidate recruiter.
7.9.12. Uncorrected vision of greater than 20/40
7.9.13. Dental issues that rate below the USG’s standard of category II for deployment.
7.9.14. Sleep Apnea
7.9.15. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
