3.2. An employee who wishes to take annual leave must seek the approval from an authorized
manager no less than 7 working days prior to taking leave. He / she shall not take leave before
his/her leave request is approved by an authorized manager. Otherwise, it will be considered as
the absence from work.
3.3. The Company reserves the right to designate dates for any employee to take annual leave, or to
change any approved leave schedule as it sees fit. In the case it is necessary to have any
employee to come to work during his/her leave, the Company will either compensate such
employee with another day off, or arrange for the payment of holiday work.
3.4. Upon every first working day of the year in January, the full entitlement will automatically be
renewed in accordance with agreed terms of employment.
3.5. Annual leave day of all new employees under probation period will be restricted of use until he
or she passes a probation period. Then, he / she will be entitled to the prorated annual leave
days in accordance with his / her service time of that first year (Commencement day until
December 31).
3.6. An employee, who previously is under the probation period in between two overlapping calendar
years, can carry his / her prorated annual leave days from the preceding year over (subject to
clause 3.5) to use atop of the entitlement in the succeeding year, whenever he / she passes work
probation.
3.7. For both USC employees and full-time store employees, all unused leave days of the previous
year can be carried over to the following year but must be utilized by March 31 of each calendar
year, otherwise, they will be voided.
3.8. Employee who notifies his / her resignation will be entitled to the prorated leave days according
to the service time in that final year (1 January to the last working day).
