Improving booking behaviour
As part of our quarterly review process, we analyse existing reporting data to ascertain traveller
booking behaviours. We identify areas where a modification of traveller behaviour could result in
substantial savings for Bunzl, such as:
• Changing to the same fare type on a different carrier.
• Changing fare types e.g. Examining the amount of changes made and determining if it would
be cost effective to encourage booking of a cheaper restricted fare over a more expensive
semi-flex or flexible fare.
• How many days in advance bookings are made, aiming for most bookings to be made more
than seven days prior to travel (usually provides a 10-15% saving in ticket price).
• Departments consistently booking either offline or not-compliant with policy.
Your Account Manager will work with you to develop and implement strategies that will assist with
modifying identified traveller booking behaviours and reducing costs.

it be regarding online support, implementation, finance or reporting.
• Technology team: we have recently secured the services of a top 20 Australian CTO and we
are further ramping up investment across all aspects of our technology operation.
• Profiles team: aids with traveller profile administration, hierarchy changes and HR feeds.
• Reporting team: for any ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Finance team: support with any invoice or account enquiries.
Continuous Improvement in Policy Compliance
QBT will assist Bunzl with driving compliance to its travel policy, with focus on the air policy
compliance rate of 41.8% through strategic account management, online booking tool configuration,
consultant education and training, and management information reporting.
Account Management strategic oversight on policy compliance
Your Bunzl Account Manager will work with you to identify opportunities for improvement in
compliance that drive savings, cost reductions, improved duty of care and customer satisfaction.
These will be reviewed and measured through the business reviews and program plan frameworks.
Our business intelligence tool provides your Account Manager and your procurement team with the
ability to set custom alerts highlighting any non-compliance or savings opportunities in real time.
Consultant Team helping enforce policy
Bunzl's team of travel consultants will continue to offer the most cost-effective travel option, in line
with Bunzl's travel policy.
Our offline booking systems mirror all online policy parameters and mandatory requirements,
enforcing the capture of exception codes against all bookings. Our consultants utilise the QBT ‘Client
Account Directory’ which will house Bunzl's travel policy and can be referenced to confirm specific
policy elements at any time.
