8.7.1 Protocol Covid-19
The Board noted that a woman at the architect firm had visited the
SAPPO office and was afterwards diagnosed with Covid-19, without
symptoms. The SAPPO office was notified.
Enquiries were made as to how to handle the situation correctly.
The protocol was followed to address any risks. The office was not
closed down as notification of the case was received before a
weekend, which meant no-one was in the office for 48 hours.
SAPPO took into account those who were at higher risk, for example
Anne Calitz and Monique Groenewald, who were asked to work
from home for a certain period. The office was doing well under the
circumstances. All staff members have notebooks and access to
data and can therefore work remotely.
The Board noted that Johann Kotzé was doing a course through the
University of Stellenbosch and was using SAPPO as object of his
studies. SAPPO was doing well from corporate governance side.
8.8 CEO Summary
8.8.1 Report back to National Council
Johann Kotzé reminded the Board members that although the AGM
had been postponed, a meeting with the National Council
members had to take place during 2020.
He proposed that 2 webinars be held to empower the pork
producer with information.
The first 60-minute webinar will not be interactive, and the focus will
be on the National Council and producers. The financial statements
and the budget for 2021 will be presented. Visuals of the past year’s
activities will also be presented.
The financial statements will be circulated to the National Council.
If they have any questions, they can table them before the webinar.
The questions will then be addressed in the pre-recording of the
presentation.
The first webinar will be conducted on 2 September and the second
on 3 September, with three speakers providing information to the
producers.
