PROFESSIONAL ADVICE
after Completion of all other operations - The CAM program guides the tool through each hole in
turn for deburring and rounding sharp edges. Some mechanical edge profiling tools are used for
deburring different holes, and certain profiling cutters can be used to machine 3 to 4 different
parts of a part, for example, the bottom of the hole and the bottom of the arcuate cut. To ensure
the desired position and volume of the edge profiling, it is necessary to determine the location
and size of the hole or other workpiece before starting this operation. With tight tolerances, it
is important to clearly define the location of the surface of the part, and measurement during
the process is not necessary. But if the location is in doubt, then measurements must be taken
after roughing to determine the position
of the profiled edge or element.
It is equally important to measure
and correctly position the tool itself
to ensure that the part is machined
accurately. Since the tool radius is
extremely small - and for practical
purposes simply immeasurable - the
tool length must be specified in the
CAM program. This parameter can
be confirmed either remotely using a
presetter or on the machine using a
laser or a contact probe. Feed rates are
calculated based on the dimensions of
the part and tool features. Deburring and
chamfering should generally be regarded
as a finish cut, so quality should be the
focus. Performance is always important,
but it becomes especially important
when manufacturing expensive parts.
However, in this case, increasing the load
on the tool to increase the output can
lead to negative, and most importantly
- expensive consequences. In the first
place should be stability, reliability and
the absence of defects, then unpleasant
moments in the form of defective
products can be avoided.
