CHAPTER – IV
(A) Duties, Responsibilities, Norms of Conduct of Employees
1) FULL TIME EMPLOYEE: Unless otherwise expressly provided in the
order of appointment, whole-time of the employee shall be at the
disposal of the co-operative society concerned (full-time employee) and
he shall serve the co-operative society in the business in such capacity
and during such hours and at such place as he may from time to time be
directed. An employee shall not undertake any business trade profession,
either directly or indirectly.
2) WORKING HOURS: The usual courtesy society working hours shall be
from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with half an hour lunch break between 1:00
rd
pm and 3:00 pm. Lunch break shall be availed by 1/3 of staff at any
point of time to ensure continuous availability of staff for serving needy
members. However, beyond the courtesy working hours, the staff shall
be readily available to work for the society as they are full-time
employees of the society.
3) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STAFF OF THE SOCIETY:
The Duties and responsibilities of various staff of the Society shall be
communicated by the Board of Directors / General Manager as and when
required, in the interests of better administration of the Society.
4) Every employee shall diligently exercise powers and perform duties
as laid down in the bye-laws of the Society and all other duties as
specified / determined by the Managing Committee / General Manager.
The duties of the General Manager shall be those as specified in the bye-
laws.

a) Every employee shall be devoted to his duty and serve the society with
absolute integrity, honesty and faithfulness and shall use his/her
utmost endeavor to protect & promote the interests of the society. He
shall also show courtesy and attention in all transaction towards share-
holders, members and the public dealing with the co-operative society.
b) Every employee authorized to receive/ collect cash shall deposit the
same daily in the authorized Bank.
c) Every employee shall render account in respect of any advance taken
for business of the Society within seven days from the date of receipt
of such advance to the appropriate person in the Society.
d) Every employee shall maintain punctuality and attend the office
punctually and sign the attendance register which shall be put up daily
before the General Manager or such officer as may have been
authorized by the General Manager for the purpose.
