            O God, save me by Your name, and vin di cate me by Your might...

            Strangers are ris en up against me, and ruth less men have sought
            my life; they have not set God be fore them. Behold, God is my
            help er; the Lord is for me as the up hold er of my soul... With a
            free will-of fer ing will I sac ri fice un to You; I will give thanks
            un to Your name, O Lord, for it is good. For He has de liv ered me
            out of all troub le... (Psalms, 54:1-7)

            Destroy, O Lord, and di vide their tongue; for I have seen vi o lence
            and strife in the city. Day and night they go about it up on the
            walls there of; in iq ui ty al so and mis chief are in the midst of it.
            Wickedness is in the midst there of; op pres sion and guile de part
            not from her broad place... As for me, I will call up on God; and

            were soft er than oil, yet were they keen-edged swords. Cast your
            bur den up on the Lord, and He will sus tain you; He will nev er
            suf fer the right eous to be moved. But You, O God, will bring the
            wick ed down in to the pit of cor rup tion [sheol, hell]; blood thirsty
            and de ceit ful men will not live out half their days; but as for me,
            I trust in You. (Psalms, 55:9-23)

            In the day that I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God—
            I will praise His word—in God do I trust, I will not be afraid;
            what can flesh do un to me? All the day they troub le my af fairs;
            all their thoughts are against me for evil. They gath er them selves
            to geth er, they hide them selves, they mark my steps; ac cord ing as

            they have wait ed for my soul... This I know, that God is for me.
