At the Maryland location, employees are prohibited from smoking outside of the building. A patio is
located off the second-floor break room, where smoking during breaks is permitted. Please be
conscious of non-smokers who may be enjoying their lunch on the patio and be certain to treat all
cigarettes as trash and dispose of them in a conscientious and safe manner. All employees using the
break room patio shall ensure the door is locked after each use.
FITNESS FACILITY
A fitness room is provided at the Upper Marlboro location to promote fitness and health throughout
the organization. Employees can use the fitness equipment before their work shift, during breaks
from work, and after work. Employees must use the gym equipment at their own risk and in the
manner intended for such equipment. All employees are required to sign a Fitness Liability Waiver
releasing the Credit Union from any liability prior to using the equipment.
All employees using the fitness room shall ensure the door entering the fitness room from the hallway
always remains unlocked.
EMPLOYEE PARKING
Parking spaces at Upper Marlboro location adjacent to the front and street side of the building are
reserved for customers only and the Employee of the Month. An exception is made for employees
who work past 4:30 PM for safety reasons, particularly during the winter season.
A large parking lot is provided for all other employees located on the drive-thru teller side of the
building. All employees should utilize this employee parking lot and must refrain from occupying
spaces in the front of the building to provide members with ample parking privileges. It is imperative
that employees follow parking procedures to maintain the highest level of convenience and
satisfaction to our members.
The Police FCU will not be liable for any damage or theft caused to any motor vehicle, or contents
thereof while parked on company property.
Permanent full-time employees who are assigned to work at the DC Branch location are paid a
monthly parking/commuting allowance. The amount of the parking/commuting allowance is reviewed
annually and adjusted accordingly at the discretion of executive management.
COMPANY FLEET USAGE
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety of those individuals who drive a vehicle owned by
Police FCU. It is the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe and defensive manner to
prevent accidents and property damage. Vehicle accidents are costly to the Credit Union, but more
importantly, they may result in injury to the employee or others. The attitude employee’s take when
behind the wheel is the single most important factor in driving safely.
