Employees, volunteers, and contractors using Social Media, whether such sites are internal or
external, use sound judgment and comply with all Police FCU policies.

In general, when using Social Media remember to:

a. Be professional;
b. Use common sense; and
c. Be respectful of others.

All requests for business uses of any Social Media must be directed to and approved by Information
Technology Department Head.

Internal Social Media

Internal Social Media sites consist of sites for which access is limited to Police FCU employees,
volunteers, and contractors only. Internal Social Media sites are used to allow employees, volunteers,
and contractors to share and discuss business-related topics, and share common non-work related
interests. Excluded from Internal Social Media are sites used solely for the support of business
projects.

When Using, or Posting on Internal Social Media Sites:

a. All posts or comments must be appropriate, accurate, non-objectionable and in compliance
with all Police FCU policies.

b. You must not post any information that is or could be confidential, proprietary, privileged or
sensitive in any way.

c. You must not post or upload (i) any music or (ii) any pictures or videos of children who are not
Your children, unless you have received consent from the parents or legal guardians of the
children.

d. You must be respectful of all Intellectual Property rights, including Police FCU’s, and abide by
all copyright, trademark, and other Intellectual Property laws.

e. If you are unsure whether You need consent or require consent for such postings, contact the
Information Technology Chief Executive.

f. You must follow the terms and conditions established for Internal Social Media site.

External Social Media Sites

An external Social Media site is a site which is accessible to a public audience through the internet,
including any Extranet Sites of Police FCU. As used in this policy, “social media” also includes blogs,
forums, and social networking sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and
MySpace, among others.
