Privacy
Police FCU IT staff assumes that employees are using their computers appropriately. IT does not
randomly read Credit Union staff files, email, or review web surfing habits. If there is a suspicion of
wrongdoing, IT reserves the right, after getting written permission from the President/Chief Executive
Officer (CEO), to monitor usage, read files and read email. Routine maintenance and monitoring of
the system may lead to the discovery that the user has or is violating this Acceptable Use Policy. At
this point, IT will contact CEO before continuing further. Although Police Federal Credit Union has an
internal rule that requires IT to seek CEO approval before monitoring employees, system users have
no right of privacy and should have no expectation of privacy in materials sent, received, or stored on
Police Federal Credit Union systems.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Employees may engage in social media activity during work time provided it is directly related to their
work, approved by their manager, and does not identify or reference company clients, members, or
vendors without express permission.
The Police FCU staff shall respect all copyright laws. Specifically, it is prohibited to download any
music, movie, or other copyrighted material without paying compensation.

Police Federal Credit Union’s Social Media Policy establishes the rules and guidelines for employees,
volunteers, and contractors on the use of internal and external Social Media. In addition to the Social
Media Policy, all use of Social Media must adhere to all Police FCU policies, including but not limited
to: Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Records Management Policy, Electronic Communications
Policy, Privacy Policy, Information Technology and Security Policies, Media Relations Policy, and
Harassment-Free Workplace Policy.
As a financial institution, Police Federal Credit Union recognizes they must continually evaluate the
various methods of communication it employs. The use of WebEx and online forums are one way for
Police FCU to engage with its employees, volunteers, vendors, and members, as well as the various
business environments in which it operates.
