Salted Nutella Biscuits ~ Liv Marcus

I chose these to add to the cookbook as
they are one of the Marcus’ family’s
favourites. They are very easy and don’t
take long, I make a batch pretty much every
week as they don’t last very long here!

        Ingredients:
        200 g unsalted butter
        300 g caster sugar
        1 large egg
        325 g self-raising flour
1 teaspoon of flaked salt (plus little extra for sprinkling)
        200 g Nutella

(makes 20 depending on how big you make them - I usually end
        up with a lot more)
Starters | Soups | Main Meals | Desserts | Cakes | Biscuits, etc
        Method:
        à preheat oven to 180 c / gas mark 4
à line two baking trays with greaseproof paper
à cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
à mix in the egg until combined, then gradually add the flour
and salt until a dough has formed

à add the Nutella- you can mix it in fully or stir it through to
              create a marble effect

à divide the dough into balls (keep in mind they spread quite
a fair amount in the oven!) and gently squash them down
on the baking trays, leaving plenty of space
à sprinkle with salt before baking them for 12 minutes

à transfer to a wire rack to cool and set for 20 minutes before
              eating
