400 - MASONRY

Bearing Walls (inside plant area)

Provide standard 8” thick exposed masonry units (12 courses high = 8.0 ft.) to enclose the plant area
offices, separate rooms and for support of the wood framed mezzanine floor above. Masonry work to
have vertical and horizontal reinforcing steel with concrete fill and tooled joints where exposed.
Masonry work to be designed by a registered professional engineer.

Exterior Walls

Plant
Provide 4” thick split face gray standard masonry units (15 courses=10.0 ft. high) backed with
6” standard steel studs spaced @ 16” c/c with standard ½” thick sheathing and 1” air space to
exposed portion of front wall and one complete side wall (shipping/receiving side).

Office
Provide standard 4” face brick to the entire lower portion (10.0 ft.) of the exposed office
building walls, complete with 6” standard steel stud backup, standard ½” sheathing and 1” air
space. (Refer to brick purchase allowance)
