BEYOND BASICS
CHAPTER 1
FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS
,
During my early, developing years as a student, one of my
teacher’s favorite sayings was, “Maximum Efficiency, Minimum
Effort”! While its meaning is easily understood, the quest to
implement this philosophy both eluded and lit my path for over
50 years. The philosophy is like that which states, "Perfection is a
Path, Not a Destination"! Being able to achieve Maximum
Efficiency with Minimum Effort would be the same as attaining
Perfection, so the journey continues.
Perfection is a Path, Not a Destination
This philosophy has led to the development of the concepts
outlined in this book.
This book focuses on easy to learn and understand concepts rather
than techniques. Understanding concepts allows the application
of a single concept to the creation of a myriad of techniques
instead of a specific technique which may only have a few
variations.
