Procedure:
Two methods can be used to initiate the Opt-out process. Either the DSM can request
it, or the NAT Facilitator will initiate the process after receiving the new-hire
notification of an eligible agent. All DSMs and RSMs have received a procedure memo
outlining the requirements for eligibility for an agent to complete the Opt-out option
to become exempt from attending NAT. It is expected that they follow the guidelines
before requesting their new agent be given the Opt-out opportunity. If the process is
initiated by the NAT Facilitator, she/he will contact the DSM of the eligible agent.
