GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

1.2.45 Protection Against Legionnaires Disease
Adequate protection to all water installations should be incorporated by the Electrical
Contractor to cover the event of Legionnaires Disease as recommended by the CIBSE
Technical Memorandum TM13 "Minimising the Risk of Legionnaires Disease" - 1991, and
guidance note GN03 1993 - Legionnaires, interpretation of HSC Approved Code of
Practice.
1.2.46 Subsequent Failure of The Contract Works
If the Contract Works are maintained by the Employer in accordance with the Contractor's
maintenance manual and directives and the Contract Works subsequently fail within the
period of defects liability then the Electrical Contractor is to identify the reason for failure
whether it is latent or otherwise.
The Electrical Contractor is to rectify the defect within a reasonable time agreed with the
Client and or store manager together with making good all damage resulting from defect
at no cost to the Client providing that the Electrical Contractor is not required to correct
any defect due to normal wear and operation.
The Electrical Contractor shall be required to provide a fully detailed written report to the
Project Manager of each and every such defect together with the remedial works
undertaken within seven days of such remedial works.
1.2.47 Mechanical
The Electrical Contractor is to supply, install and provide 'as installed' record drawings and
operation & maintenance manuals, commission and demonstrate as applicable, all the
necessary materials, components and equipment to form a complete working installation
at the premises in accordance with all relevant British and European Standards. The
completed installation, new and existing services adapted as part of the contract are to be
fully in accordance with all relevant BS/EN Regulations and local authority requirements.
The Electrical Contractor is to be responsible for identifying and making suitable provision
for, the mechanical characteristics of all materials, equipment and components as
specified or having an impact upon the design or performance of the mechanical services
installation.
The Electrical Contractor is to be responsible for identifying at an early stage; the delivery
period associated with all equipment and is to satisfy himself that these can be procured
within the constraints of the construction programme, without adverse effect on the
project.
Should the Electrical Contractor identify any potential problems these are to be reported
as soon as is practicably possible.
