works supplied by others. The Electrical Contractor is to provide a Risk Assessment of the
proposed installation.
All design work is to be carried out under the direct control of suitably qualified and
experienced personnel.
The Electrical Contractor is to produce detailed schedules of all equipment proposed for
use within the works for comment by the Project Manager.
1.2.48 Electrical
The Electrical Contractor is to supply, install and provide 'as installed' record drawings and
manual, commission and demonstrate as applicable, all the necessary materials,
components and electrical equipment to form a complete working electrical installation at
the premises in accordance with all relevant British and in particular those referred to in
the Tender Specification. The completed installation, new and existing, is to be fully tested
in accordance with all relevant BS and BS7671 the IET Regulations and local authority
requirements.
The Electrical Contractor is to be responsible for identifying and making suitable provision
for, the electrical characteristics of all materials, equipment and components as specified
or having an impact upon the design or performance of the electrical services installation.
The Electrical Contractor is to be responsible for identifying at an early stage, the delivery
period associated with all equipment and is to satisfy himself that these can be procured
within the constraints of the construction programme, without adverse effect on the
project.
Should the Electrical Contractor identify any potential problems these are to be reported
as soon as is practicably possible.
Where information on the Electrical services in any area is not provided, it is to be the
responsibility of the Electrical Contractor to select equipment, materials and components,
suitable for the application and thereafter design and install an adequate layout, bearing
in mind the usage of the space.
Any omission from the tender in this regard, is to be clearly and unequivocally stated and
highlighted within the tender submission.
The Electrical Contractor is to produce detailed working installation drawings, fully co-
ordinated in every respect in terms of distribution routes and equipment locations, with
the installation components etc., of all other services and building disciplines.
It is to be the responsibility of the Electrical Contractor to satisfy himself that all electrical
plant and equipment sizes provided to him in the tender documentation are of adequate
size for the installations for which they serve. This is to include, but not limited to,
switchpanels, cables, distribution panels, protective devices, circuits, etc.
