GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

In the event the Electrical Contractor calls the Project Manager for re-inspection of the
works and the works are deemed by the Project Manager unacceptable and not
remedied, the costs of the Project Manager's abortive visit shall be charged against the
contract sum.
1.2.36 Specified Items & Prior Quotations
The Electrical Contractor is to be responsible for ensuring that all specified items comply
fully with all aspects of the Tender Specification for technical, commercial and
programming matters.
The Electrical Contractor must also satisfy himself that all contractual conditions between
himself and the manufacturer/supplier do not conflict with the Contract conditions.
1.2.37 Restrictions and Special Requirements
Employees of the Electrical Contractor are to comply with any restrictions and special
requirements as detailed in the Tender Specification and or main contract conditions
where conflict arises the Electrical Contractor is to bring this to the attention of the
Project Manager for clarification prior to the submission of his tender.
The Electrical Contractor is to make himself aware of any Asbestos or pollution present on
site from the Health and safety file.
All due allowance is to be made for out of hours working as required for the full and
complete execution of the works.
Where out of normal hours working is required the PM is to receive not less than 2
working days notice specifying times and locations of the work to be undertaken. Any
concealed work executed during this time, for which notice has not been given, may be
required to be opened up for inspection and re-instated at the Electrical Contractor's
expense.
1.2.38 Deleterious Materials
The Electrical Contractor is to ensure that during the execution of the works or any
subsequent works, he does not use or authorise the use of the following deleterious
materials, or those known to the Electrical Contractor to fall into this category at the time
of the works.
During the execution of the works, if the Electrical Contractor or his staff become aware
of deleterious materials as listed below, they must advise the PM immediately in writing:-
• High alumina cement or its use in concrete
• Wood wool slabs in permanent formwork to concrete or in structural elements or anywhere
else
• Calcium chloride or sodium in admixtures for use in reinforced concrete
• Calcium silicate bricks, blocks or tiles, calcium chloride;
• Concrete that may be susceptible to alkali/silica reaction
