GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

commissioned/ balanced to his satisfaction. Records of commissioning are to be
forwarded to the Project Manager prior to the witnessing.
Commissioning and test results are to be prepared in a tabular form on a format to be
previously submitted to and agreed by the Project Manager.
Following agreement and approval to the commissioning and test results they are to form
part of the "Operating and Maintenance Manuals".
1.2.22 Design and Performance Responsibility
The Electrical Contractor is to be responsible for works including but not limited to:
1. The provision of builders works information and drawings.
2. The design, drawing and fabrication of brackets, supports and associated fixings.
3. The provision of design, installation, working and fabrication drawings, including
the co-ordination of detailed installation elements within the building fabric.
4. The selection and suitability of all items specified by performance.
5. The design of the fire alarm installation shall lie with the specialist contractor
through the Electrical Contractor.
6. The BMS design and installation to meet the design intent of the BMS performance
specification
1.2.23 Materials and Equipment
The Contractor is to be totally responsible for ensuring that all nominated firms supplying
equipment or carrying out work, comply with these Employers Requirements.
Where items are specified by name and/or model number, it is the Electrical Contractor's
responsibility to ensure that the item specified and supplied meets the performance
criteria given.
All materials are to be in accordance with the types and manufacture described in this
Specification. Where the Electrical Contractor desires to use materials differing from
those described, alternatives may be offered wherever he considers this desirable. Any
alternatives offered must be approved in writing by PM.
The Project Manager reserves the right to inspect materials on site and to reject any
materials not complying with this Specification.
The cost of any dismantling and re-erection of the installation occasioned by the removal
of rejected materials are to be borne by the Electrical Contractor.
The Electrical Contractor is to ensure that delivery, assembly, erection, testing, setting to
work and completion by a nominated firm including any variations affecting that firm,
complies with the requirements of this Specification.
The cost to the Electrical Contractor of ensuring the above procedures are carried out is to
be borne entirely by the Electrical Contractor.
