GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION
                                 Version 2014-2

               2.16 MECHANICAL PLANT

               2.16.1 Final Connections to Plant

All items of HVAC plant and equipment shall be provided with local means of isolation
external to the item of plant. The rating of the isolator will be determined by the Electrical
Contractor to match the circuit protection.

Isolators will be AC23, IP67, rotary type with padlock facilities.
The isolators will be labelled with the supply circuit reference and associated plant
                         reference.

               2.16.2 Kitchen Extract Fans

The kitchen extract fans will be inverter controlled, a single inverter will be supplied free-
issue by the HVAC Contractor and installed by the Electrical Contractor in a weatherproof,
vented enclosure located adjacent to the plant.

The supply cable to the inverter will be terminated at an IP67, 32A TP&N&E CeeForm plug
                         and socket with integral isolator.

The supply cable from the inverter to the extract fan will terminated in an IP67, 32A
TP&N&E CeeForm socket complete with integral isolator, matching that on the input side
                         of the inverter.

The two extract fan motors will both be fitted with YY type flexible cables and IP67,
TP&N&E CeeForm plugs, one extract fan motor will be connected to the output of the
inverter, the other will be fitted with a plug cover. The cables connected to the extract fan
motors will be of sufficient length to allow the fan to be connected directly to the socket
on the input side of the inverter in the case of an inverter failure.

The Electrical Contractor will install a 7-core cable between the inverter and the central
control panel for the use of the controls Contractor.
               2.16.3 Air Handling Units

There are two types of standard Air Handling Units installed in the McDonalds
                         Restaurants.
These will either have Gas Fired or Electrically powered Heater sections.

               2.16.3.1 Electric Heating A.H.U’s

The Electrical Contractor shall install weatherproof isolators adjacent to each electrically
heated AHU. The isolator shall be IP65 rated.

The isolator shall be fixed to galvanised steel frames supplied and installed by the
                         Electrical Contractor.
