2.14.4 Communications Wiring

All data cables to and between till systems and the Managers office will be installed by
McDonalds till Specialist.
2.14.5 Power Cabling

Power cables to outlets serving digital equipment shall be installed as 3-core, YY cable

with an LSF oversheath. Cables will have a CSA of not less than 4.0mm; the final rating of
the cabling is to be determined by the Electrical Contractor according to the circuit load
and circuit protection rating.
2.15 CONTROL SYSTEM

A central control system will be provided for the direct and indirect control of plant and
other systems. The HVAC & trend IQ3 panel will be provided ‘free issue’ by the HVAC
controls supplier for installation by the Electrical Contractor.
The control system will be linked with the following:

• Fresh-air handling plant
• Kitchen extract
• Room cooling units

• Fire alarm system
• Intruder alarm system
• Lighting contactors
• Emergency Lighting contactors
• Over-door air curtain
• Room thermostats
• Pressure switches
• External photocell
• Booth heaters
• Volume control dampers
• Network point in the Managers office

2.15.1 Wiring

The Electrical Contractor shall supply and install all wiring to items of plant, cable sizes are
to be determined by the Electrical Contractor in accordance with the FLC of the plant
items and the rating of the protection devices, in accordance with the requirements of the
IET Wiring Regulations.
Controls cabling shall be as detailed on the Controls Specialist drawings.
